McLain & Merritt, P.C. is committed to recruiting, retaining, and promoting the best attorneys and law students from all backgrounds. To this end, our firm has established a Diversity Action Committee, and has participated in a wide variety of activities related to increasing diversity. Our firm places an emphasis on the recruitment, development and retention of minority and female attorneys. The firm’s diversity goal is to continue to markedly increase the number of minority and women attorneys.
In an effort to recruit, develop and retain women and minority attorneys, McLain & Merritt, P.C. has undertaken to create a work environment where women and minority attorneys are given challenging assignments, and honest feedback. The firm is a member of numerous national and state diversity organizations whose goal is to increase opportunities for ethnic, minority and women attorneys. Several attorneys at the firm have participated in ABA and State Bar conferences for minority lawyers, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Atlanta Women’s Network and the Hispanic Pro Bono Assistance Project. Our firm has made it known to the recruitment coordinators of the law schools in Georgia that we are actively seeking women and minority attorneys, and we have put into place a diversity internship program for students.
